This discussion of managing one's taxable income streams to maximize one's ACA (Obamacare) tax credits is getting a little old and tedious.

If you served in the US Armed Forces, another healthcare

Well, it’s not “old and tedious” for those of us who don’t have access to othe healthcare benefits. Good for you re. your VA coverage. I’d sure like to have that option.

Coverage for healthcare is THE MAJOR concern for every person around my age (50’s) who would either like to retire early or who fear being forced to retire early because of a layoff, firing, or a health issue that would prevent us from continuing to work.

The constant refrain from my peer group is “I have to keep this job/stay in my job because of my health insurance.”

There are a lot of people on this board who are in their late 60’s and 70’s. I’m not sure that some of you are really aware of how the health insurance landscape has really changed since you all retired from employment or who don’t have access to other health insurance like the VA or who won’t get generous retiree healthcare packages or what it’s like living in a state that didn’t expand Medicaid, etc.

I, personally, really value intercst’s insights in this area because I may need to take his advice someday to manage my health insurance costs.
