This is a fun time of year. You see all these kids get to make their dreams come true playing D-1 football.

I noticed the recruiting game is a shot in the dark, but has some mad science to it as well. I don't have a leaning towards one team or another.

For my money, the rich don't have to scout quite as hard as others. Texas has not one out-of-state signee. Not a bad thing, but you need to hit outside the borders just a bit and steal players from other states. Miami is a perfect example of that. Recent out of staters include Jeremy Shockey (Oklahoma), Kellen Winslow Jr (California), Jarret Payton (Illinois) among others. This years crop is no exception. 10 different state & Canada:

6 out of staters for FSU (all but one are from the Southeast):

Florida- home run in the JUCO set. The rest are all regional kids (Gulf Coast) :

Some times you work with pedigree. Texas has Young Dockery, Tennessee has Munoz & Riggs Jr, & U-VA got some of its own:

The rich DID get richer.

LSU kept it along the coast but from their home state, they got 9 of the top players in the state:

USC, like Florida, poached the JUCO scene:

Notre Dame, not so lucky. Solid group, but not quite the Bluc-Chippers of the past. Still, you get a few of these kids to turn out, you're good :

Who turned my head? Michigan St. 11 Prep All Americans (and one JUCO). THAT'S getting it done:

The first part of the recruiting process is over. Now, its time to get the "Undecided" guys. THAT'S the icing on the cake.
