Though I don't pretend to understand all the nuts and bolts, not only is faster than light information transfer prohibited by classical theory (Special Relativity) but also by Quantum theory (The No Communication Theorem).

It boils down to this: Two entangled particles exist in a "superposition" of states until a measurement is made. When a measurement is made, the entanglement is observed (e.g. if one is measured to have spin up the other will always have spin down). If you wish to transfer information via two entangled particles, however, you need to force one particle into a particular state (in this way creating "information" to be transferred). This imposition, however, breaks the entanglement, rendering extra-luminal information transfer impossible
