Ok, this is it. The last payment was paid and posted. It's cool how it happened to fall on my 500th post.

Once upon a recent time
a young man started spending
and though he didn't have a dime
His bar tabs were unending

How did he procure this beer
when cash did not avail
the credit cards he held so dear
put wind into his sail

He had his wages fairly paid
so little did he fret
surely money that he made
would fast outgrow his debt

But even when his spending paused
his debt continued growing
his balances much interest caused
and fees he soon was owing

He cursed, he swore, he yelled and wept
the days of spending rue'd
the banks desired promise kept
and payments made when due

That is when our young lad found
a place with sage advice
and friends to help him come around
and learn of sacrifice

They told him that to end this woe
a budget should be started
his means he'll have to live below
and progress should be charted

He cut expenses everywhere
no penny was neglected
he started saving in a fund
for problems unexpected

"I'd like to pay less interest"
he asked banks on the phone
loud they laughed at his request
and at his sheepish tone

He armed himself with snow-in-ball
and on the phone persisted
and rates were lowered by them all
with spending still resisted

And then his debt began to shrink
our lad had finally won
twas not as hard as you might think
twas really sort of fun

And so to Foolish Friends I boast
please share my happy dance
this beer I drink to you in toast
was paid for in advance!
