Hi everyone,

The last two months have been a very emotional experience
for me. I live in South Louisiana just outside of New Orleans.
My damages from Katrina, for the most part were to my roof
and lost utilities. It seemed at first that everything
was alright. In the days following Katrina local officials
were asking for assistance from boat owners to help in
rescuing Katrina victims. Hundreds of private boat owners
in the effected areas responded to the rescue call.
A friend of mine, who owns an airboat, asked if I would go
with him.

I will never forget the sights and sounds that we encountered
in those days ahead. The yelling, pleading, and crying from
inside attics is something I will never, ever forget.
As I type this it brings tears to my eyes and a hurt that I
have never experienced in my life. I have always been a
jovial person, always ready to hear and tell a good joke.
But since Katrina, nothing seems funny to me anymore.
Then Rita arrived, taking care of what Katrina missed and
causing havoc to the whole coast of Louisiana.

I plan to resume posting jokes in the future, not with the
expectations of making anyone in particular laugh... except
maybe myself. They say it will get better.

p.s. Thanks averagejoe for your concern and best wishes.
You are truly one of a kind.
