To all-

thanks much for the advice. i've read King's "On Writing" and found it very motivating. i have to say, i also found many of your posts to be the same. i know that the only way to be a writer is to sit and write. i guess i needed to hear it again. i've also enjoyed the dialogue of how each of our ideas generate in different ways.

JB--i particularly liked your running metaphor. i am a runner, so i could totally relate. i used to take a secret pride in beating a running partner who boasted about his extensive reading of Runner's World and marathon training books. I always thought that if he'd stop reading and just run, it would make minutes' difference in his time.

one last thing, which is not meant to be critical, but liss, im a she. maybe you were just choosing gender for ease of writing, but i think all writers need to address their own assumptions about gender in order to included women in places they've been excluded for so long.

off to write,
