To the Gorilla killing point:
Looking at the last quarter - 190 V 170 = 12% increase
Looking at the best recent quarter 170 / 126 = 55% increase.

So reasonably we should expect between - 209 and 285
with say 240 as a working figure.

So to stop Siebel being a gorilla Oracle would have to be pulling $120 in CRM ( and keep doing it ). Which it isn't a mile off doing now.

To your second point:
First, I don't believe Oracle's numbers
You should have more faith in Larry :)

I realize I've been hard on Oracle but I couldn't just go “those figures are rubbish”, they look startling to put it mildly, but I need to get some idea of why its reasonable to say they've been fudged. I think the sudden drop in database revenue was suspicious but during the conference call no one nailed him on the point.

Thanks Stocksure, I will take this information on board.

I should say I was being a devils advocate on this which I forgot to put in my first posting.

Thanks Mike and StockSure for the responses.
