I seem to recall that, way back when, the original estimate was that we would have 65,000 dead from covid by this date.
Then the estimate was raised to 135,000.
Then the estimate was raised to 160,000.
Then the estimate was reduced back to 135,000.

The actual number is almost exactly 160,000.

Next week covid deaths will exceed the number of deaths by preventable injury (accidents) in 2018, meaning it can't help but be the 3rd leading cause of death in the US for 2020.
