Top G.O.P. Donors Seek Greater Say in Senate Races

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/02/03/us/politics/top-gop-donors...

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — The biggest donors in the Republican Party are financing a new group to recruit seasoned candidates and protect Senate incumbents from challenges by far-right conservatives and Tea Party enthusiasts who Republican leaders worry could complicate the party’s efforts to win control of the Senate.

The group, the Conservative Victory Project, is intended to counter other organizations that have helped defeat establishment Republican candidates over the last two election cycles. It is the most robust attempt yet by Republicans to impose a new sense of discipline on the party, particularly in primary races.

. . . The Conservative Victory Project, which is backed by Karl Rove and his allies . . .

Karl Rove is now viewed as the voice of moderation in the Republican Party.

I see glimmers of hope that they are being marginalized more and more:

heh heh..

one of the sponsors - a 'back up service' decided to pull their ads from Rush......

he said if you pull ads....it will be forever..

they did it...

and 3 months later after they pleaded and pleaded to get back.....they went broke...lost all their customers as Rush switched them to a competitor.

Carbonite learned the hard way that decisions have consequences.

Yeah..GM doesn't advertise. So? it's their money and their choices, but if you want to be on Talk show radio nr 1, 2 and 3 shows.....there's plenty of folks out there anxious to buy the ads.

and at good rates, too. Rush isn't going into poverty any time soon.

On the other hand, Air AMerica couldn't even keep its doors open...Liberal Radio has come and gone half a dozen times.

Al Gore couldn't even keep his left wing TV network going. Sold out to the arabs. heh heh.....CUrrent TV....FIOS doesn't even carry it as part of the basic package. You got to cough up premium level dollars to watch it

Interesting observation. Conservatives like programming that reinforces their existing world views. Liberals aren't interested in that. I wonder why that is?

Yeah. When it comes to politics, I tend to be far more interested in who wins elections instead of who can produce a profitable radio show.

On the other hand, profitable radio shows are about all the right has to celebrate these days.

Yep, the right can run a government, not run it into bankruptcy, knows how to pass an annual budget and live within it.

On the other hand, the left can't pass a budget (4 years and counting - crickets chirping).......

Can't live within a budget it hasn't passed.

Is running the country toward total insolvency...and spends spends spends like there is no tomorrow.

Yep...the right can actually do business.

The left can't.

It shows.

Everything the left touches turns to crap. ObamaKare.... SS, Medicare, Medicaid....all headed to a disaster state as fast as Obama can make it happen. Bust the system. That's his motto...then he'll 'remake' it in a nice socialist paradise like North Korea...where folks don't need information since there is only one party like in Cuba.

you 'won' the last election.

Now it is time for you lefties to actually lead the country out of recession (4 years and counting), fix the housing problems, not make them worse, fix the student loan problems, not make them worse or stiff the rest of us, fix the unemployment problem (4 years over 8% and more likely its close to 15% in reality), and fix the economy.

It used to be JOBS is nr 1.....then you simply give up on your JOBS council....heh heh...so much for 'yesterday's' priority. Now it is 'getting the guns' and 'gay marriage' and 'free amnesty' for all the illegals to give them 'dignity'. And put another 11 million on ObamaKare at subsidized prices......

Obama flip flops faster than you can say 'skeet shooting' ......which likely he did once in his life....and probably missed every one of them.

Wow. That's interesting. Why didn't they ever do it?

Liberals tend to prefer good music and NPR on the radio--and so do many intelligent conservatives.

That's a very elusive beast these days. Some believe they are extinct - wiped out entirely by RINOs.

Please post a link wherein Carbonite is out of business. I just subscribed, and they appear to be doing quite well. When Limbaugh lambasted the young lady from Harvard who testified before the Senate Committee regarding birth control, I sent Carbonite an e-mail. The President of Carbonite graciously emailed me back, stating they were, in fact, pulling their advertising, as he, himself, had a daughter, and Limbaugh's tirade was not in keeping with his beliefs.

Tele, when you post such garbage, please post a link. Most of your comments are proven to be untrue.
