Even as an investor of many years, I allowed the "pretty advertisements" on television to bewitch me. I had a few dollars in Fidelity and the money burned a hole in the old pocket, snagging those few into some Trivago shares. Soon discovered through that Trivago was owned by a major player in the travel business. Unloaded the shares with a tiny loss. A childish fling that reminded me that RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH is the bedrock of investing ----- not emotion or pretty pictures.
