Trump made a useful bow in 2016 in that direction with his "What have you got to lose" campaign issue which he posed to African Americans during the campaign.

More recently we have his attack of the do nothing Democrats in Baltimore, who have had absolute political control of that city and many others for many decades and served the interest of teacher's unions rather than the African American population.

Thanks to Republican welfare reform twenty years ago and an excellent economy, increasing numbers of African Americans are no longer mired in poverty and are finding ways out of that trap. It may be that larger numbers will choose to return to voting Republican after decades of voting for the living embodiment of slavery in the United States ----the Democratic Party.

SP, I think and agree the tide is turning, as far as African Americans are concerned. They have nothing to lose. In 4 years their lives have become better...slowly, but better. An Obamaphone is not comparable to a job, dignity and potential for future benefits. Not freebie benefits but, earned benefits. We all thrive on success. Whether it means a promotion at a 7-11 or JP Morgan. It is human nature and the Democrats have failed to perceive that simple fact.

And, I think the race card has worn itself out. No one cares what color you are. Red, white, black or purple with green stripes. Nor do we want to pay reparations (we've paid it by means of welfare and that didn't improve any/or few lives, and it is recognized). Hence, Liberals/Democrats promote LGTBQ (not sure if I got that in order), felons and any other small percentage group they can create as victims and promote for votes. All while they claim to be highly educated and in best interest for all...
