Full pardon... and it begins. Pardon the criminal, loyal, and silent.

A criminal pardons another criminal. If this stands, we truly can no longer say “no one is above the law”.

This is a tragic result of putting an immoral and unethical sleaze into a position of power.

Of course it will stand. While there might be some debate about the ability of the President to grant pardons to himself, the pardon power is otherwise unlimited. Regardless of whether Flynn deserves to be pardoned, it's clearly within the President's authority to grant him one.

And almost by its very nature, the granting of a pardon might appear to put someone above the law - or at least to one side of it. Pardons operate to excuse someone of all of the legal consequences of committing a crime. But that doesn't mean we can't say that 'no one is above the law,' but rather that the law encompasses a safety valve that allows for mercy, forgiveness, and the excusing of a crime.

The House can subpoena him on Jan. 21. He can no longer claim the 5th! And if he refuses to testify otherwise, there are, I believe, sanctions that can be imposed up to and including lock up for contempt.

THIS is not over.

This is a tragic result of putting an immoral and unethical sleaze into a position of power.

But if the Washington Republicans did their jobs, he would be checked. So we owe Mitch McConnel and the GOP Senators just as much for this result as Trump. And if 47% of the country didn't have their heads buried in the right wing echo chamber of lies, then there would be no cover for either Trump or the rest of the Republican deplorables in the Senate.

Getting rid of Trump is only a start.
