Try looking at this from the perspective of hundreds of SBUX partners in NYC who have been donating thousands of their own hours to maintain free coffee and pastries for countless rescue workers 24 hours a day since the tragic events of 9/11/01. It is absolutely demoralizing for them to have to read this crap about a one-time, hardly profiteering oriented, mistake/big time error in judgement by a single partner. The event was dealt with swiftly and professionally by SBUX corporate management and should never have received the attention that it did.

The writer of this article should be ashamed, along with the mainstream press for picking this up and running national with it. Nevermind the fact that he completely ignored all the good that Starbucks partners have been contributing to the cause and the huge amount of money and products donated by the corporation prior to the article. The last thing our country needs right now is to focus on trivial negative events.

Be sure you visit your local SBUX and read a couple rebuttal pieces that should be posted...from the American Red Cross and a hospital worker very close to the scene. This is how the country should perceive SBUX involvement with the devastation in NYC.
