Two former executives of a local Ford Motor Co plant have been convicted for human rights crimes over the abduction and torture of company workers during Argentina’s 1976-83 dictatorship in a historic judgment.

The junta was responsible for the disappearance and presumed murder of thousands. That was simply how Argentina rolled then. The US was not bothered, because the junta members were "good anti-Communists". The Ford managers, and probably a lot of other corporate honchos, probably made brownie points with the junta for reporting on their employees. The Ford managers could have found themselves snatched and tortured if they had not cooperated.
