1. UAL desperately needs executive leadership. Dump the CEO and all the people that report directly to him.
2. Negotiate a 15% cut in the average workers pay (including administration, pilots, flight attendants, mechanics and all the rest).
3. Set a maximum salary of $500,000 for any employee, including the CEO. (I know that none of the high rollers will jump at the job, but what the ----, they haven't done anything yet). For proof of that just look at the U.S. Air deal.
4. Forget the luxury jets. A bad idea whose time has come.
5. CUSTOMER SERVICE, Customer Service, customer service. Any way you say it, UAL must strive to provide it.
6. Eliminate the unprofitable routes, and the unprofitable aircraft at the same time.
7. Let employees know that they are valued and essential. UAL will make it, because they do have good employees.
