Daughter is in choir this year. The Varsity Girls Volleyball team* wanted the middle school choir to sing the anthem before a game. Choir teacher said she couldn't arrange that on short notice, but DID recommend one member of choir to do it solo. A member who had already sung the anthem before a middle school football game** this year.

You guessed it. And she knocked it out of the park. Or the gym, to be precise. Probably 200-300 people in attendance. She got a lot of compliments on her performance.

Daughter ALSO qualified for All-Region Concert choir, which is a pretty impressive accomplishment, and getting kudos from her voice teacher. So, there's that. Her school performance has been pretty good overall, but there's areas she could improve.

Wife is doing fine other than dealing with buttheads at work, and still having issues with her sinuses that will likely remain with her on some level forever thanks to getting zapped all summer two years ago.

I continue to collect paychecks for sitting at home in shorts and t-shirt in front of a computer and specializing in Taxation Of The Rich, which keeps me on track to retire at an early age. There is an ongoing Corporate Reorganization, which like all such endeavors has its own list of internal buzzwords. It's annoying but hopefully we'll get through this to the NEXT round of changes with an all-new buzzword list.

We still have the '99 Prizm, although if I can't find a way to get the Check Engine light fixed before the next inspection in February, it may finally be retired and we may buy a new Honda Accord. Maybe even an EX model! Woo-hoo!

We have a basil plant in our backyard that is the size of a small armchair. Pesto for everyone!

That's about all for now.

**- even in Texas in our district, middle school football is a small crowd of parents only.
