Yesterday, it was learned that yet another Democrat had landed on the so called NO FLY list. Dr Robert Johnson is an outspoken critic against bush's war in Iraq. He is also challenging the Republican incumbent for Congress.

Dr. Robert Johnson, a Democrat from Sackets Harbor, near Watertown, who is challenging incumbent Republican John McHugh in the 23rd District, said he was denied access aboard a Continental Airlines flight to Florida on Jan. 17 from Syracuse after officials informed him that he was on a "no-fly" list.

What does it say about the Bush White House when they take the “war on terror” so lightly that they are willing to play political games with it? Not only are they making a big joke out of the no fly list and thus making it not very credible. By putting innocent people on the no fly list they are making it so much easier for the REAL terrorists to board the plane.

Who is this Robert Johnson who supposedly is so dangerous? He is former lieutenant colonel, which means he swore an oath to defend and protect our country. He is yet another Democrat who is on the list. These are some other ones:

U.S. Sen. Edward M. "Ted" Kennedy said yesterday that he was stopped and questioned at airports on the East Coast five times in March because his name appeared on the government's secret "no-fly" list.

James Moore is an Emmy-winning former television news correspondent and the co-author of the bestselling, Bush's Brain: How Karl Rove Made George W. Bush Presidential. He has been writing and reporting from Texas for the past 25 years on the rise of Rove and Bush and has traveled extensively on every presidential campaign since 1976.

This author was placed on the no fly list.

Though Al Gore has his faults, not even his most unsparing critic thinks he might take it into his head to hijack an airplane. But that didn't stop airport screeners from pulling him out of line as he was preparing to board a flight from Washington to Milwaukee last week and running him through the full "security" check: body scanned, briefcase rifled, underwear pawed through. And it didn't stop them from doing it to him again the next day when he flew from Milwaukee to New York.

I would imagine that, not until a Democrat becomes President and we see Republicans on the no fly list, will there be enough of bipartisan outrage to finally change how the no fly list works. One thing is for sure; we need a White House that do not play politics with the war on terror. Bush certainly is.

Critics of the Bush Administration and Democrats are always going to assume that they got on the no fly list because of their political activities. However, a number of people end up on the list who are not connected to politics, such as small children in some cases, or who are Bush supporters, as in the case of one Republican congressman. The difference being that babies and Bush supporters who end up on the list by mistake are not going to be bitching and moaning and claiming that they are being persecuted by the evil BusHitlerMacHalluburton in long winded articles on leftysphere web sites.

The list is compiled by the FBI, CIA, and other intelligence services, and the TSA has no control over who is on the list. The list is secret, and there is no way for a person to find out if they are on the list except to buy a ticket and attempt to board a plane.

Ahhh...that makes me feel better. When you have the best intelligence in the world compiling a no fly list including politicians, authors, and small children, what more could you ask for? Keep up the good work guys!!!

Heck of a time to find out that a mistake has been made. But hey, grandmother will always have another funeral. I'll just catch the next one.

From the normally poison pen of MrCynic:-

Gee, you're about as cynical as a 6 year old being handed a fairy floss when it comes to your beloved fearless leader's cabal.

Watching the two sides of your bifurcated personality dance the political jig is hilarious.

The whole thing is one big political game, so what's the big deal?

and Bush has never exerted political influence over them. Knowing that you or your your wife may be outed wouldn't influence anyone, and surely the pre-invasion intel on Iraq wasn't influenced. Nah, not the Bushies.

During the Vietnam War, Bush worked pretty hard to get on the Air Force's no-fly list. That wasn't political?
