My wife drives a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee (Orvis edition, lol). It's fully paid off, as is my 1997 Honda Accord. With no car notes at this time, I suppose I would engender some approval from the LBYM people anyway, lol.

The LBYM guy who subsists on cornmeal and raisins for lunch did blow my mind. He's apparently saving money for some rainy day, but when that particular weather blows by he'll still probably find a reason not to spend. I don't think many people would want to (or could) live like that. On the other hand, I am somebody who agrees with Dave Ramsey (DaveRamsey.com) that a car note is one of the quickest and dumbest ways to waste money.
