Three US Firms Mull Counter-Bid For TI Group - Newspaper

LONDON -- Three U.S. engineering/aerospace firms are mulling a counter bid for TI Group PLC (U.TI), which last week agreed to merge with the aerospace company Smiths Industries (U.SIN), according to the Sunday Times.

Tyco International (TYC), Honeywell Inc (HON) and United Technologies (UTX) are apparently interested in contesting the bid, the newspaper said.
