VPN on Router is more advanced and only recommend it if you need that type of security. The VPN is installed in the Routers Flash Chip so it can be on all the time. Only certain model routers support this. If the router is owned by your cable company they will not want you messing with it. Do a google search on VPN Routers. You will find lots of info.

I don't use this at home now but I know how to if I needed it. I have used it professionally in keeping multiple sites secure when talking to each other. Banking Applications. Security is a must there.
