I'm really curious as to what happens when the debts are mismanaged by the counseling agencies. We've seen it a lot on the boards here--and it wasn't mandated. IIRC, this is essentially an unregulated industry, right?

I'm waiting to see what happens to people who follow the letter of the law, get the counseling, and then get screwed by the agencies...are they still legally responsible for the debt (yes, of course.) but what is their recourse?
