Was Kubrick wrong to take a serious novel about potential nuclear disaster and adapt is a black comedy in Dr. Strangelove? In a film like that, I want _Kubrick's_ take on the story (and Terry Southern's and Ken Adams' and others) - that's what makes it interesting.

So wouldn't you be irritated if someone advertised a film as a remake of Dr. Strangelove and you went to see it and it turned out to be American Beauty?
