Washu,

I am a ATHM customer (and shareholder) and I used to have a dial-up connection. I initially went to cable because I was tired of tying up my phone line all the time(incidently it was cheaper to go with the ATHM connection than add a second phone line and pay my dial-up ISP), but was otherwise pretty happy with my connection speeds. After using ATHM's service for a couple of weeks I can safely say I could never go back to my dial-up connection again, I'm addicted to the speed. You couldn't pry my cold dead hand off my cable modem. Sure you can buy some crappy little econo box hatchback and maybe even be happy with it(only because you don't know any better) but I have driven the Porsche of internet connections and will never go the econo box route. Once others have experienced this kind of speed and ease of use they too will say good buy dial-up and hello cable.
