Watch out, though. I'm a medical student and at least in med school, everyone is considered dependent unless he/she is married. In that case spouses' assets, of course, are considered. We even have some 40 year olds in our class whose parents' assets are considered due to this inane rule.

I believe this is unique to med school, but you may want to check.
