I thought if we each listed what we thought were areas where we could improve our spending habits, it might help us to look at in writing. It could be a new year's resolution:

My New Years resolution is to stay away from bargin stores and special sales. I always buy things I don't need.

I will buy what I need, when I find it on sale. So I could make a list of things and then buy it when I see it on sale.

I need to stay away from chinese auctions. I buy too many tickets.

I will make donations instead of buying things I don't need for a fund raiser. This way I will avoid buying overpriced junk just because I think it is for a good cause.
