We are spending easily 120% of our pre-retirement income in retirement.

Correction. We are spending 120% of our pre-retirement SPENDING in retirement. Our spending increased because of more leisure time and more leisure activities. Our income has gone down modestly because - no paycheck - but our investment incomes and such continues to rise and our net worth continues to rise, albeit at a slower pace.

I suppose it's about both, but for me it's about the "spending", not the "income." Sorry about that.
