We drove across the state of Washington today and the closest thing we saw to a crisis in corn was a truck struggling to keep the load the stuff it was hauling below 60 MPH going down a hill, and a similar truck struggling to keep its load above 40 MPH going up the next hill.

Both on Interstate 90.

There was lots of corn on both sides of the freeway, for about 80 miles.

But... you can't really get production stats by driving past the stuff on the freeway.
