We have government programs that seeded a situation where way way more than ever imagined and born into single parent families and to parents who simply can not afford them and knew it all along but knew they would be relatively bailed out, and those often are children of parents who made out by having more kids.

Apparently the more kids you have that you cannot afford, the more government assistance you get!
I used to wonder how a single mom could entertain the thought that it was OK to have seven kids. I was naïve. I had no clue that the government was paying for those kids and that woman was actually living better than I was with two small children and a husband working full time at an entry level job and then going to college at night for many years until he got his degrees.
I remember once being at the checkout counter at the local supermarket clutching my coupons and trying to make do on very little money.
My sister said to me "you should be on food stamps". I looked at her like she was crazy. It had NEVER occurred to me but you know, she was right. I could have been but that's not the way we were raised.
And there you have it!
