We took my wife's car in for it's required annual inspection yesterday.

We've got a weird deal here in Texas. My registration is due in March. The state of Texas mails you a reminder that it's due and you receive this notice in January. So you have to keep this little letter for a couple of months on your desk hoping you won't forget it until you get your vehicle inspected. The tricky part is you can't renew until you get inspected and you can't get inspected until after March 1st.

Here's another weird deal (only in Texas). They want to know if you would like a reminder emailed to you next year. You say yes. So a couple of weeks later they send you an email that your license plate renewal is due. This email is really a reminder that 2019 is due not 2020. Wait a minute I just paid that a couple of days ago.

Any way at least I didn't have to go down to the DMV. Now that's a whole nuther story especially in Houston.
