We were busy with family goings-ons over the holiday and so missed the Capitol parade and speeches, so watched it last nite on YouTube.

I never once heard the President refer to himself, his policies or, perhaps most important, any attacks on his critics (primarily from the band of 23) claiming over and over that this was all going to be about Trump's ego, self aggrandizement, etc, etc. Instead, this was all about service members and recognizing what they have done and how they have collectively, all armed services, made possible what we have today.

Some might conclude Trump is finally listening to his aides, softening his rhetoric, putting positive spin on his speech topics, focusing on others rather than himself, and so forth. But something tells me this is all part of his plan. The first couple of years, lure the left and its media patrons into a cacophony of hate narratives they can no longer control and feel compelled to spew such rancor into the microphone at every opportunity. Then he begins a steady build-up of positive rhetoric while largely....but not completely....ignoring such radical left rants while focusing on topics of importance to voters, such as drug prices, favorable trade agreements, border security and perhaps most important, develop a plan for health care coverage that will actually be affordable. The Left will be so deeply buried in its own crap it will not be able to respond and those most qualified to respond, will have been eliminated from the race.

Just a guess, but we'll see how this unfolds.
