Greetings,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the "Women and Investing" folder here at the Motley Fool.

This is the place to ask your Foolish questions about investing, financial management, retirement, divorce, widowhood, and anything else under the financial kitchen sink. Don't be afraid to ask -- your question is our command! : )

If you're a totally new investor and wonder what all this Foolishness is about, try beginning with "The Thirteen Steps to Investing Foolishly" an informative and entertaining tour through our Foolish Filosophy of investing.

http://www.fool.com/School/13Steps.htm

Then, if you have any questions about what you've read, post them here and you will receive an answer. This I personally guarantee. : )

Of course if you get lost, we'll be happy to give you directions around Fooldom.

Now, a quick word about what we are not. We are not a reference desk for all aspects of the stock market and the investing world. Nor are we an index of the Internet. We are aware of most of the resources that Fools require to become capable of doing their own research on stocks, but there are lots of things out there that we don't know about.

Also, we don't discuss specific stocks in this folder. TMF has a whole passle of folders on individual stocks. To find them, scroll to the top of this page and click on "Stock Folder Express." Type in your ticker and voila -- the folder will materialize before your eyes.

However, if an individual company is relevant to us, as women, we will be more than happy to discuss it.

We are dependant on you, our community of women, to make this folder a success -- so please share your stories with us. I hope to laugh, cry, commiserate, whine and learn with all of you.

And now, on with the folder...

Foolishly,
