Well, ok, I'm probably going to get kicked off the board for this unpopular opinion....

But, you said it yourself. They're providing a place for you to stay. It would be naive of you to think that it comes with no strings attached, implicit or otherwise. You may have ideas about how *she* can change to make your life easier, but that's a tall order for someone her age, and especially tall seeing as how it's under her roof. I say be happy she's an involved grandmother. Take the bad with the good and be gracious for the soft place you have to fall every day. The other option is to move out and not be tied to these frustrations.

I think it's a little selfish, myself. But, I know it's just a rant and is hopefully not the way you feel all the time.
