First of all I'm glad for the CAPS it's helped me see some the holes in my strategy. My strategy is dividend growth investing such as in REIT's, utilities, and Closed-end funds. I have ventured out of my comfort with some of my picks and haven't done to bad but not great. I'm trying a strategy of Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett, and a guy who made it a easier to understand Phil Town . I've read Intelligent Investor , a couple of books by Buffet, Tweedy Brown's What has Worked in Investing, and then Phil Town's Rule # 1. Now I'm putting what I learned to the test here in CAPS. MXIM is my first pick using this strategy so we'll see what happens. As far as my real portfolio I've gained about 11% in the past 3 years so I'm going to try to gain 15 % a year according to this strategy. But I'm testing my picks first before putting real money on them So if any one has comments advice from experiance with value investing please feel free to write !
