What I see or don't know is a lot.

If that makes me 'ignorant,' well, I'm ignorant.

I'm unaware of any studies that prove a switch from petrochem cars to battery powered cars will cause a net reduction in global pollution.

I've seen reports that suggest it enhances our national energy independence, but net net, smaller pollution profiale consider ing the long term disasters that nuke and coal and fracking represent....

I'm not convinced.

I wish I were convinced.


Dude. It's MATH. More efficiency = less energy use = less fossil fuels consumed = less pollution. That an electrical grid is more efficient than a combustion engine is not controversial. And that more efficient energy use will mean less pollution is also not controversial. Yet somehow, like with global warming, a few dedicated people have managed to keep a "the science is still out" attitude afloat among the public.
