The Foolish Workshop message board folder is . . . well, pretty much what it sounds like: a place where Fools can formulate, refine, discuss and discard various stock screening strategies. No, this isn't an place to find "magic bullets for investing" - as always, The Motley Fool advocates a balanced approach where you hold both Growth and Value stocks, approaches which complement each other nicely

This message board area will give you a chance to test and talk about screening techniques as part of an overall stock research program. The board is open to investors just branching out from the Foolish Four into Growth stocks for the first time and veteran Growth-stock investors,.

A note about some of the stock screens to be discussed here: some of them have been awesome performers in the past, but the back-tested histories of many of them are brief, and we believe prudence in investing is Foolish. So don't assume because our Growth screens only include five stocks that we think you should hold a five-stock portfolio. Not so at all.

This year, the Foolish Workshop area will be tracking eight different screens -- some old, some new. For explanations of the rankings for these eight screens are derived, see Workshop Screen Explanations.
