I just started looking at this (fast-risen) stock. The latest 10-Q (November) alludes to future ventures with AOL. It sounded promising, but vague. Has anyone heard anything about what they might do?
With AOL, for example, users can check e-mail, stock quotes, etc. at the gas pump.
Although technically feasible, (BPAmoco even toying with a Tokheim/Radiant designed WEB browser GUI based pump), gas stations will loose money big time if people are "freely" surfing the net after buying gas. They need you in the store buying goodies or out of the way for the next gas purchaser. Even if doing surfing while pumping only, the cost of infastructure to enable this is prohibitive. The margin on gasoline is so small the desire for a GUI at the pump is to sell Snickers, Miller Genuine Draft, Big Mac's and Winston cigs to you while you pump. Perhaps if you pay to surf while pumping it may offset fixed costs but who would do so when the promise of net appliances being hand held & wireless is looming for those who "have" to be constantly on-line.
