What? She's making you pay for the dress? That's a terrible faux paus. The bride is supposed to purchase the dresses for her bride's maids, just as the groom is really supposed to rent/buy the tuxedos for the groomsmen. To not do so will leave your family the talk of the ladies club for the next twenty years.

Sorry KYPackrat. You must be being facetious. I've never heard (until now) that bridesmaids dresses are the responsibility of the bride. Nor that tuxedos are the responsibility of the groom. A lot of people have had to shell out a lot of money to participate in the wedding party.
