As in WHAT THE HECK?

I called a Vanguard number to get information about rolling a 401K into a Vanguard IRA -

The number is 1-800-523-9442 should there be any doubters here -
and I get a recording asking if I'm over 50.

Well, sure I am so I said yes. They SEND ME TO A TELEMARKETER SELLING MEDIC ALERT BUTTONS!
A TELEMARKETER!

I'm SCREAMING into the phone, literally, NO NO NO I DON'T WANT THIS and the lady WILL NOT STOP READING HER MOTHER LOVIN SCRIPT.

So I hang up and answer NO next time - smart, eh? They start trying to sell me a gift card worth $100 for $1.98. Riiiiiiight.

I thought Vanguard was a classy outfit but they take a customer wanting to ask about moving a hundred thousand dollars and THROW THEM TO TELEMARKETERS?

WHAT THE EVER LIVING HECK!

About to leave and go to another company. I'm pissed. This is how they treat customers? Send them to telemarketers???

The number is from their website. https://investor.vanguard.com/401k-rollover/vanguard-ira
