..to Bush's Strategy for Victory in Iraq that was launched with such fanfare last November? Remember that? When Rove realized polls showed Americans were concerned there was no actual strategy? And hence some consultants were paid a lot of money to develop a serious sounding document to assuage their fears. Remember that?http://www.whitehouse.gov/infocus/iraq/iraq_strategy_nov2005.htmlHow do we define victory? Short term, Iraq is making steady progress in fighting terrorists, meeting political milestones, building democratic institutions, and standing up security forces. I mean, if this is our strategy for victory, shouldn't we be closely monitoring our progress and issuing a report card? Shouldn't Bush officials be making references to this key strategy document each day? I mean, Bush does take this strategy seriously, doesn't he? Or was it all just another lie?Perhaps some sharp reporter should ask Bush how much progress we're making on the "Security Track: Clear, Hold, Build," or the "Economic Track: Restore, Reform, Build." I wonder if Bush even remembers this document exists?--JC
