We've all been there: A beautiful afternoon with the sun shining, the birds chirping, and the aroma of fresh cut grass in the air. As you step up to the first tee you feel like this is the day you shave 10 stokes off your best round ever. The ball is teed and you eye the spot in the center of the fairway 300 yards downrange that you will place your ball.

You take your club back and at the top of the swing, something goes horribly wrong; it just doesn't feel right. As you follow through, you watch your ball hang a turn high into the trees. The problem is, you aren't sure what exactly you did wrong. You tee it up again, and smack, another sacrifice to the tree gods.

The rest of the day is spent playing the "Over Compensation Game", complete with worm burners and sky balls, fat shots and thin shots, duck hooks, and slices. And of course, lets not forget the topped ball that only goes as far as the woman's tee box. 18 holes and 2 dozen balls later, you head home utterly defeated.

The question is, what do you do to keep the wheels from falling off and destroying your whole day?
