While AFSI is an insurance company rather than a REIT, this could be a very painful lesson. The controlling families are not known for acting responsibly toward shareholders. I'm not hopeful for a positive resolution, but will probably hold on (perhaps in vain) to see if the buyout is approved and if there is any hope for these preferreds. I note that the F series jumped 9% today :)
