whoofin' down a lotta the bark, fat and meat before he even got around to feeding the family

The other evening I cooked up a mess of fried chicken thighs the wife worked for hours to prepare... pounding and marinating in a butter milk marinade for 8 hours, then dredging and turning over to me to fry in a dutch oven pot on the side burner of the grill outside.

18 sandwich sized pieces of boneless skinless perfection, 3 batches of 6 pieces, bubbled in oil to golden brown....it was impossible to not 'whoof down' down a piece or 2 from the first batch while the next 2 batches sizzled.

They went on potato flour burger buns with a chive mayo/buttermilk sauce with lettuce and pickles as the barefoot contessa described.

Really spectacular. All credit to the barefoot contessa.
