ARLP dropped 7.3% today on big increase in volume.I did not see any news today. What happened?
Don't know -- I checked the web page, but nothing to see. I wonder if it is somehow related to the drop in oil prices -- some people view energy as somewhat interchangeable and there are a number of power plants that can switch between coal, oil, and natural gas. People may think that dropping oil prices means a drop in demand for coal, but that is just a guess. In any case, it is still way up from where it was just a month ago.--Joe
I agreee...definitely related to drop in oil and, maybe more significantly, nat gas prices. Nat gas is a big energy source alternative for some power plants..."the competition". Long-term none of this probably matters.Steve
