Why do you say that the odds of winning have increased from 1/3 to 1/2?

The object of the game is to pick the prize package from behind a closed door, right? Well, one of the doors is now open (and fortunately did not have the prize package behind it). So we've now gone from three closed doors to two closed doors. Three possible winners to two possible winners and one known loser. As someone else pointed out, the only reason to pick door #2 now is if you really like goats.

That's why *I* would say the odds have gone from 1/3 to 1/2.

And I too would stick with my first choice because I'd feel worse if I changed my mind to pick the losing door.
