Why on earth isn't anyone telling him, "Okay, we'll start you at a 10.0, but we'll have to take that missed mandatory two-tenths deduction for the extra hold. Fair is fair, right? Now, where's that fourth-place finisher, the rightful owner of your medal?"

(Is this missing deduction thing something only the Americans noticed? Is it controversial or pretty cut and dried? Why isn't it brought up more often?)

I used to think he had a case, but with the missing deduction brought to light, i no longer think so.

If i were him, i'd be embarrassed that i'd brought it up at all. "Nevermind! I'll just keep my bronze, thankyouverymuch! Sorry for any trouble!"

What snippee said. Why isn't every single person who is asked about this in an official capacity bringing it up? Why isn't it in every single article? I mean, doesn't it render the point moo?!?!?!?!?!?

And I really think the fourth place finisher should be making more of a fuss. Tap, tap, tap on the shoulder of the current pseudo bronze medalist, and "Hello, I believe that's my bronze medal you're holding, may I have it, please, in the spirit of sportsmanship?"

If I were rich, I'd take out a full-page ad in every big newspaper around the world and point that out. Maybe daily, until the next summer Olympics, or someone apologizes to Paul Hamm, or the bronze medal goes to its rightful owner...
