This is a blatant plug and if you want to, you can penalize me for it and have it pulled from the boards.

I am an assistant leader in a Wilderness Travel Course. This is a non-profit sub-group of the Sierra Club. It is put on by volunteers so I am not making any money out of this.

It is a ten week class put on in 4 locations around Southern California every winter. The San Bernadino group and the West LA groups have already started for this year. The Orange County class will begin next week and the Long Beach class the week after that. I am a leader in the Orange County group.

It is a great course that teaches you what you need to go out into the wilderness with confidence:

Rock Skills
Snow Skills
Other fun stuff

There are 4 outings: 2 day trips to the local mountains, 1 weekend in the desert and 1 weekend in the Sierras.

It is a great time and you will meet some great people.
