The most important thing for all of us to do on our own is watch our money. Those who won't take the time to learn how may benefit from a financial planner, if he/she is honest and knowledgeable, but there isn't much a financial planner can do for a person that that person couldn't do less expensively on his/her own, thus The Motley Fool.

We may be able to learn the law, but we can't practice law (practically) or medicine (legally) without consultation from someone trained and licensed in these areas. Financial planning and having full control over your own money is something everyone can do for themselves.
