With a population peak of only 2-3 times the current population, I honestly don't believe we can sustain an advanced technological civilization over the entire currently-inhabited portion of the planet. Why?The acceleration of technological development has now been engaged by technology itself. Faster processors are allowing more "things" and "concepts" to be created from imagination faster and cheaper, and these "things" and "Concepts" are in turn accelerating the processing power at less cost... a dynamically accelerating growth cycle...If we stopped population growth FLAT, TODAY, technological growth would continue to expand without a currently visible endline. How can more human bodies ensure anything?D
