Wounded Warriors

New Unit at Bahama Bay

We are pleased to announce that Wounded Warriors has completed the purchase of a second three bedroom unit at the Bahama Bay resort in Davenport, Florida.

Our Bahama Bay resort is the most popular and because of the increased demand we purchased the new unit. We will purchase a third unit in the near future if demand continues.

Your generous contributions to Wounded Warriors enable us to provide military families who have had a parent injured, wounded or killed in combat operations the opportunity to use, free of charge, our units at Bahama Bay or The Victorian in Galveston, Texas.

Because of what we offer, children who have been separated from a deployed parent now have a chance to renew and strengthen their relationships. Likewise, children who have lost a parent now have a chance for some solace, peace and a sense of normalcy.

While we are powerless to completely mitigate the trauma of military families who have paid a price because of extended military deployments, what we offer does help.

Our Barrier-Free Master Bathroom
Once our purchases were completed, the master bathroom in each unit was remodeled and modified to be completely wheelchair accessible.
We hired an engineering firm that specializes in barrier-free living spaces to design a modern and aesthetically pleasing space.
The redesign of the master bathroom entailed the removal of the bath tub, switching the location of the sink and toilet and installing a new sink. Grab bars and new a tile floor were installed, as well.
The roll-in shower is spacious and easily accessible. The shower head height is adjustable and can be raised or lowered with ease.
