Wow, awesome advice ResNullius and BruceM. I learn something everyday. It feels weird complaining about 9.42% since I've seen much worse but I suspect ROR would have been much better in regular mutual funds seeing as the VA's have such heavy annual fees. Plus the lack of liquidity hurts too. I've got a TI-83 (engineering calculator with some crude financial functions) since I'm an engineer so I'll try and use the Excel method from now on. Thanks again everyone.
